Information for National Selection Regatta #2 and Speed Order – May 13-15, 2010

*Update on USRowing Rules for Racing 3-106 Electronic Devices

The FISA interpretation 5.1 Communication will be applied to 2010 NSR's and National Team Selection events:

"During racing, no processed data or communications may be electronically received in the boat and no data or communication of any sort may be sent electronically from the boat. Raw data, such as from speed sensors, GPS location, heart and stroke rate, etc., may be collected, received, processed and/or stored in the boat during racing. However, FISA may install on each boat device(s) for the purpose of transmitting real-time race information which shall be owned by FISA and may be used for any purpose including presentation and promotion of the event and the sport."

Time Trials

USRowing will be moving from 2,000 meters to 1,900 meters for Time Trials in NSR’s, Speed Orders and Trials. This will be done to align the distance with FISA standards that may be applied in upcoming World Cups, World Championships and subsequent Olympic Games.

Time trials will use two lanes, dependent on the number of entries, with a 40-second gap between each crew in that lane.

If anyone has questions about the new distance or format please contact Matt Imes, High Performance Director, at matt@usrowing.org
