2016 U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Team Trials

USRowing is committed to fair play. All athletes participating in selection for, and competing as a member of, all U.S. national rowing teams must be in compliance with United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), International Olympic Committee (IOC), United States Olympic Committee (USOC), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), FISA and USRowing rules and requirements relating to banned substances, including but not limited to undergoing testing and obtaining and maintaining current therapeutic use exemptions as needed. Failure to adhere to anti-doping rules and requirements may result in an athlete losing eligibility to compete for the United States.

  • All Olympic and Paralympic Hopefuls must complete the United States Olympic Committee Games Registration in order to be eligible to participate at Trials. For information on how to register, please visit the Olympic and Paralympic Hopeful Fact Sheet
  • All competitors must have completed the USRowing ECG and Health Screening Requirement.
  • All competitors must be current Championship Members of USRowing. To renew your Championship Membership, go to www.usrowing.org and click on “Join/Renew,” or contact member services at 1-800-314-4ROW.
  • All competitors must have completed the USRowing Anti-Doping Acknowledgement and have a current signed USRowing liability waiver on file. This acknowledgement and waiver can be signed at membership.usrowing.org
  • Olympic and Paralympic Trials 1 will be a clean venue, as per the USOC's Rule 50
  • For Paralympic Athletes: A USA Sport Classification is required prior to participation in Trials. Information on Classification, and the current USA Classification Master List at can be found on the USRowing Classification Page. 

Athlete and Accredited Coaches Registration

Participating athletes, coaches, and PCAs must pick up their credential at the UTC during the below Athlete Registration window in order to access the Athlete area.

Important Information for Competitors:

  • In regard to equipment and clothing advertisements/logos, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Team Trials will be a 'clean venue' as dictated by the USOC's Rule 50. Please visit the Olympic and Paralympic Hopeful Fact Sheet for specific information.
  • For Paralympic athletes, please visit the Olympic and Paralympic Hopeful Fact Sheet for information on Classification.
  • All winners of the 9 events (M4x, M1x, M2x, LM2x, W2x, W1x, LW2x, ASM1x, ASW1x) at the Olympic & Paralympic Trials in Sarasota will receive $3,500 each. There will be awards for 2nd ($750), 3rd ($500) and 4th ($250) depending on the number of entries. Cash awards are based on a ‘greater than 50%’ rule; meaning to qualify for the cash award for 2nd place the event must have at least 5 entries racing, 3rd place - 7 entries, and 4th place - 9 entries.
