PRINCETON, N.J. – USRowing and Sarasota-Bradenton are pleased to announce that the 2015 USRowing Youth National Championships will be held June 12-14, 2015, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.

“This is unique opportunity for the rowing community to experience the best youth rowing in the country at a world-class venue. There is a lot of curiosity about the project and a strong interest to visit Sarasota-Bradenton,” said USRowing CEO Glenn Merry. “I expect a large turnout for the 19th-annual USRowing Youth National Championships.

“USRowing is extremely confident in the capabilities and management of Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates (SANCA). In our experience, this organizing committee exceeds expectations and delivers great events,” said Merry. “Paul Blackketter and his team combine a tremendous new world class venue with excellent volunteers, professionalism and great hospitality that results in a best in class experience for rowers.”

“We are truly honored that Nathan Benderson Park was chosen to host this event,” said Paul Blackketter, Chief Operating Officer for SANCA. “Having the park added to the venue circuit that USRowing and other top organizations use is a true success. It further positions us as a leading venue and will help us attract other major events in the future.”

The premiere youth rowing event in the United States, USRowing’s annual Youth National Championships sees approximately 1,500 athletes competing in more than 350 crews, representing some 150 teams from across the country – all vying for national titles in 18 boat classes. This year’s USRowing Youth National Championships is scheduled to take place June 13-15, 2014, on Lake Natoma outside Sacramento, Calif.

Sarasota-Bradenton’s Nathan Benderson Park has hosted several high-caliber events including USRowing’s Masters National Championships and Southeast Junior District Championships, the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships, Florida Scholastic Rowing Association Sculling and Sweep Championships, Sarasota Invitational and Sarasota-Bradenton Head Race. In 2017, it will host the world’s top international crews at the World Rowing Championships.
