Sarasota Set to Host 2015 World Rowing Coaches Conference

The 2015 FISA Coaches Conference will be held for the first time ever in Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla. November 19-22. Besides the numerous educational opportunities, attendees will also have the chance to tour the site of the upcoming 2017 World Rowing Championship venue, Nathan Benderson Park.

In addition to the numerous educational opportunities, attendees will have the chance to tour the site of the upcoming 2017 World Rowing Championships venue at Nathan Benderson Park.

Conference topics will include:

  • Leadership in High Performance Sports
  • Importance of Nutrition and Hydration on Success
  • Conversion of Collegiate Athletes to Olympians
  • Endurance Sports Training Theory
  • Coaches in the Spotlight

The meetings, which will take place in the Hyatt Regency Sarasota, will offer all in attendance an equal opportunity to enjoy the warm Florida weather while learning a great deal from a wide variety of speakers on a long range of topics.

USRowing’s nutritionist, Elizabeth Fusco, will be on hand to discuss proper nutrition while U.S. Men’s coach Bryan Volpenhein will speak on the transition from university rower to competition on the international level.

Attendees will also hear from highly interesting, non-rowing speakers such as Boston Celtic’s Wyc Grousbeck on the importance of winning a national title to Miami Dolphin’s Wayne Diesel cover performance monitoring.
