PRINCETON, N.J. – The rowing community gathers at the New York Athletic Club this week to honor the best in the sport at the 5th Annual Golden Oars Awards Dinner, hosted by USRowing and the National Rowing Foundation.

The awards dinner and auction serves as an opportunity to recognize excellence inGolden-Oars-5A-logo_web-600px copy rowing as well as raise funds for the National Rowing Foundation's support to the U.S. national teams and America Rows, a program dedicated to changing the lives of urban youth and those with disabilities by providing rowing as an opportunity for all.

“This year has been an exceptional year in rowing at all levels,” said Beth Kohl, Golden Oars Dinner Chair and USRowing Chief Marketing Officer. “We are honored to co-host this dinner with the National Rowing Foundation and to recognize the individuals and performances which have had such an impact on our sport. While there are many events that celebrate our sport, Golden Oars is a special occasion where we gather as one community to honor our own. Congratulations to all the award winners and the friends, fans and family members behind each one, cheering them on to greatness.”

“As we come to the end of 2015, we look to 2016 and the Rio Olympics, now just a short 10 months out,” said Jamie Koven, Honorary Co-Chair of the dinner and Co Chair of the NRF. “Our athletes are focused on making the medal stands. They are training hard and know what it takes to win. We're excited to gather at Golden Oars to celebrate an outstanding year, send them on their way to Rio and to raise funds important to helping our athletes and coaches achieve their goals.”
