Ohio State, Barry University and Williams College Top the 2016 USRowing/CRCA Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – Coming off of a third consecutive NCAA women’s rowing championship, The Ohio State University begins their season at the top of the 2016 USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division I collegiate rowing poll, presented by Pocock Racing Shells.

Barry University topped the rankings in the DII poll and Williams College led the DIII poll.

Ohio State took 17 first-place votes to top the DI poll, with the University of California following in second (three first-place votes). Brown University finished third (one vote). The University of Virginia, placed fourth (four votes) with University of Washington rounding out the top five.

In the DII poll, Barry University, the defending national champions, received five first-place votes to finish first. Mercyhurst College was second and Humboldt State University was third. The University of Central Oklahoma and Nova Southeastern University held fourth and fifth place

Williams took eight first-place votes to lead the DIII poll with Bates College in second with two first-place votes. Wellesley College was third with Ithaca College and Wesleyan University rounded out the top five.
