PRINCETON N.J. - Friendly, yet high-level competition is the name of the game, as the top developmental junior athletes from Canada, the United States and Mexico come together for the 2016 CanAmMex Regatta. The United States will be the host country for this year’s event, as the events take place at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla., July 10-18, 2016.

Not only a race of athletic importance, the CanAmMex Regatta provides an opportunity to introduce junior team members to new cultural experiences and a life opportunity to race for the USA. For many, CanAmMex is a crucial step towards further junior, under 23 and senior U.S. national team opportunities.

Racing will be made up of 12 events including men’s and women’s youth single sculls, men’s and women’s youth double sculls, men’s and women’s youth pair, men’s and women’s youth quadruple sculls, men’s and women’s youth four with coxswain and men’s and women’s youth eight.

One of a handful of sites in the United States identified as having all of the natural attributes that make up a world-class rowing and recreational facility, Nathan Benderson Park began hosting organized regatta competitions in 2009. An overview of the area can be found here.

The first day of racing on July 16 will see races in the men's and women's single sculls, men's and women's double sculls, men's and women's pairs and men's and women's fours. Racing will commence at 9:30 a.m.

The following day, racing will begin at 10:00 a.m., the men's and women's quadruple sculls and men's and women's eights.
