When University of Delaware crew coach Chuck Crawford talks to his team about how to work together to move a boat, he likes to take them mentally onto a golf course.

“I use the analogy when I coach sometimes. It’s like eight guys hitting a golf ball off the tee at the same time and trying to coordinate it so they are all hitting the same distance and smacking the ball precisely at the same time,” the 2015 Fan’s Choice Collegiate Coach of the Year said during an interview prior being recognized at the Golden Oars Awards Dinner on Nov. 19.
