    If there were such a thing as a utility player in women’s rowing, it would have to be Adrienne Martelli. She was substituted into the women’s quad at the second world cup in Varese, Italy, and helped the U.S. to a bronze medal. Then when she had an injury herself and had to be taken out of the quad for the 2015 World Rowing Championships, she was offered a spot in the women’s four.

    Celebrating excellence in rowing for 2015, USRowing invites the rowing community to nominate athletes and coaches who achieved extraordinary success during the year. The USRowing Fan's Choice awards, now in its fifth year, will be presented at the 2015 Golden Oars Awards Dinner at the New York Athletic Club on Thursday, November 19. Awards will be given to an “Athlete of the Year” (including rowers and coxswains) in the junior, collegiate, masters and national team categories and a “Coach of the Year” in the junior, collegiate and masters category. Nominations close Monday, September 21, 2015.
